Creating Surveys
Walk through Opinyze's 7-stage survey creation wizard to build, target, and launch your survey.
Overview
Opinyze's survey wizard guides you through creating a survey in seven clear stages. Each stage focuses on one aspect of your survey, so you can build it step by step without feeling overwhelmed.
The 7 Stages
1. Basics
Set your survey's title, description, and category. Choose a category that best fits your topic (e.g., Technology, Health, Finance) so respondents can find it easily. You can also choose whether to show your name as the survey creator.
2. Audience
Define who should see your survey. Filter by age, gender, location (region, state, LGA), education level, employment status, income range, ethnicity, religion, marital status, household size, and area type. Precise targeting means higher-quality responses from the people who matter most to your research. Learn more in Targeting & Audiences.
3. Polls (Optional)
Configure poll-related targeting constraints if your survey is tied to poll participation data.
4. Screener (Optional)
Add short qualifying questions that determine whether a respondent fits your specific criteria before they enter the main survey. For example, "Do you own a smartphone?" or "Have you purchased groceries online in the last 30 days?" Respondents who don't pass the screener are redirected before reaching the main questions. See Targeting & Audiences for more on screener questions.
5. Builder
This is where you build the actual survey. Add sections, then add questions within each section. You can choose from 10 question types including single choice, multiple choice, scale, ranking, matrix, and more. See Question Types for a full breakdown.
AI Question Generation
One of the most powerful features in the Builder stage is AI-assisted question generation. Instead of writing every question manually, you can:
- Describe what you want to learn in plain language and let the AI generate relevant questions with answer options.
- Extract questions from documents by uploading a PDF or image. The AI reads the content and generates survey questions based on what it finds.
- Generate entire sections with multiple questions organized by topic, or add individual questions to an existing section.
AI generation costs credits, and pricing is shown before you confirm. The generated questions are fully editable, so you can refine them to match your exact needs.
6. Rewards
Set your total budget in credits and the reward per response. The platform calculates how many responses you can collect based on these numbers. You can also configure consolation credits for respondents who attempt the screener but don't qualify.
7. Review
Preview your entire survey, check the question flow, targeting criteria, and budget before submitting. Once you're satisfied, submit the survey for moderation review.
After Submission
After submitting, your survey goes through a moderation review for quality, clarity, and compliance. Most reviews are completed within a few hours. Once approved, you'll fund the survey from your credit balance, and it goes live. See Survey Lifecycle for the full flow.
Save your survey as a draft at any point. You can come back later and pick up exactly where you left off.
