Rewarding Enumerators (Creators)

Enable enumerator rewards on a survey or form, pick Manual or Auto mode, manage access, and fund your reward pool.

If you run field surveys or want influencers to drive responses, you can reward enumerators per attributed submission. Enumerator rewards work the same way for both surveys and forms.

Turning it on

Enumerator rewards are configured in the creation wizard (the Rewards step for surveys, the Settings step for forms) and on your survey or form's Enumerators page after it's live.

Toggle Reward enumerators on, then choose your mode and access. The reward pool is funded after creation, not during setup, so you can finish building first and fund when you're ready.

Manual vs Auto mode

  • Manual - attributions are tracked for stats only. No money moves on the platform; you settle enumerators off-platform. Good when you want full tracking but handle payment yourself.
  • Auto - the platform pays enumerators from a reward pool you fund, immediately on each attributed submission, first-come first-served. When the pool can't cover a submission, the reward waits as Pending and is paid when you top up.

Mode switching after go-live is one-way: Manual to Auto only. Switching to Auto honors your entire unpaid backlog at the rate you set at switch time (you'll see the owed total first). Auto can't be switched back to Manual, because that would strand rewards enumerators already earned. To stop paying, simply stop topping up and recoup the pool when you close.

Setting the reward (Auto)

In Auto mode you set the credits per submission (from 1 to 100,000). Each attribution snapshots the rate at the time it was earned, so changing the rate later only affects future submissions.

Points, if any, are set by Opinyze admins, not creators.

Who can earn: access modes

  • Open - any verified enumerator can earn.
  • Restricted - only enumerators on your whitelist can earn. This is the recommended default for Auto mode, since it protects your funded pool.

For restricted access, search by code, username, or email and add a verified enumerator. Adding or removing people is forward-only: existing attributions are always honored, and the change only governs who can earn going forward.

If you choose Open + Auto, anyone verified can earn from your funded pool. Restricted is strongly recommended for Auto so you control who's paid.

Forms: collection style

Forms have an extra collection style setting that tunes fraud checks:

  • Field (default) - one agent collecting on a shared device. Repeated devices are expected and never flagged on their own.
  • Online - different people on different devices. Here, a device used for many submissions is flagged for review.

Auto-mode forms also require email verification to stay on, so each paid submission is a verified, deliverable email rather than a throwaway. When Auto enumerator rewards are live, the email-verification toggle is locked on.

Funding your reward pool (Auto)

After your survey or form is live, open its Enumerators page to fund the pool.

  • Top up any time. If you're short on credits, the standard deposit flow opens so you can add funds.
  • Withdraw unused pool funds back to your wallet before close. Withdrawals are floored at your pending obligations, so you can never pull out money enumerators have already earned. Refunds route back to the same balances you funded from.
  • Empty pool - new attributions become Pending and you get a throttled nudge to top up. Topping up drains the Pending queue first-come, first-served.
  • At close - the pool drains to remaining Pending rewards, then the free balance is automatically recouped to your wallet. Any rewards still uncovered stay Pending through a grace window during which you can top up to clear them; after that they're marked Closed unpaid.

Enumerator funding is completely separate from your survey's respondent budget. Funding, topping up, and recouping the enumerator pool never touches the credits set aside for respondent rewards.
