Becoming an Expert Respondent
Turn on your Expert Profile to be handpicked for paid surveys and live sessions at rates you set yourself.
What Is an Expert Respondent?
Most surveys on Opinyze find you through demographic targeting. Expert (VIP) targeting works the other way around: a researcher picks you, by name, and pays you your own rate for your answers or your time in a live session. It's built for people whose specific perspective is worth paying for - professionals, specialists, power users, community voices.
When a researcher targets you:
- You get a personal notification, in-app and by email, quoting your own offer - not a generic survey reward.
- The survey is reserved for its invited list. You're never competing with the crowd for a slot.
- On completion you're paid exactly the offer you were quoted, straight to your wallet as withdrawable credits.
Turning It On
Head to Settings → Expert Profile. To enable the discoverable switch you need:
- A verified identity - researchers must know you're a real person.
- A username - it's how researchers find you. Set it in Settings → Profile if you haven't.
Discoverability is off by default and you can switch it off any time. Turning it off removes you from future searches, but surveys you were already invited to are unaffected.
Setting Your Minimum Rates
Your profile has two independent minimums, and both act as a real floor - no researcher can offer you less:
- Per survey response - the least you accept for completing a questionnaire.
- Per hour of live session time - the least you accept for interviews and focus groups, prorated to the session length (a 30-minute session pays at least half your hourly minimum). See Live Sessions for how sessions work.
Your minimum also works as a notification filter: while your Expert Profile is on, ordinary surveys that pay below your minimum stop notifying you. They stay visible in your Available list if you want them - your phone just stops buzzing for offers below your rate.
Your Share Link
Your profile page gives you a personal link - opinyze.com/e/yourusername - you can put in a bio, a CV, or a group chat. Anyone who opens it can start a survey with you already added as a respondent, at or above your minimum rates.
Things to Know Before Enabling
- Targeted surveys are not anonymous. Because the researcher handpicked and paid you individually, their exports include your name and username alongside your answers. You're reminded of this when you enable the profile.
- Invitations expire with the survey. There's no accept/decline step - if you don't respond, you're simply reminded a few times, and the researcher's money for your slot is refunded when the survey closes.
- A researcher can withdraw an invitation you haven't acted on yet; you'll be notified if that happens. Once you've responded (or booked a session), your spot - and your payment - is locked in.
Add a profile picture and set your minimums thoughtfully. Researchers see your name, picture, and rates in search - a complete profile gets picked more often.
