Understanding Polls
Learn what polls are on Opinyze and how they differ from surveys.
What Are Polls?
Polls are quick, single-question votes created by the Opinyze team to capture community opinions on trending topics, current events, and everyday questions. Unlike surveys (which have multiple questions and detailed targeting), polls are lightweight, fast to vote on, and open to a broad audience. Think of them as a pulse check on any topic.
How Polls Appear
You'll find active polls in the Polls section from your sidebar. Each poll card shows:
- The question being asked.
- Category - The topic area (e.g., Sports, Technology, Entertainment, Politics). Each category has its own color badge.
- Total votes so far.
- Time remaining before the poll closes.
- Image (if attached) for visual context.
Some polls may carry a Featured badge, meaning they've been highlighted for higher visibility.
Poll Types
Polls on Opinyze come in different question formats:
- Single Choice - Pick one option from the list.
- Multiple Choice - Select one or more options that apply.
- Scale - Rate something on a numeric scale.
- Ranking - Drag options into your preferred order.
Earning Points
Every vote you cast earns you points. Points are your engagement currency on Opinyze - they determine your user level and can be converted to credits during conversion pool events. Voting regularly also helps maintain your daily streak.
Check the Polls section daily. New polls appear frequently, and consistent voting builds your streak and boosts your points balance.
